Sculptra® Aesthetic by Galderma is an FDA-approved injectable filler composed of poly-L-lactic acid with on-label approval for correction of shallow to deep nasolabial fold contour deficiencies and other facial wrinkles. The product must be reconstituted prior to use to form a sterile non-pyogenic suspension.
How does Sculptra® Aesthetic Work?
Sculptra® Aesthetic works by a unique mechanism – as it is gradually absorbed by the body, the injected poly-L-lactic acid provides volumization by stimulating collagen production. While the number of appointments and injections per appointment vary, on average three injection appointments are needed over a period of a few months.
What are the Aesthetic Goals of Sculptra® Aesthetic at Total Aesthetics™?
As one of the most experienced and sought after injectors in New England, Dr. O’Connell’s goal with all relaxers and fillers is to achieve a natural and rested look without the artificial, overdone appearance. We believe that fillers require injectors with great experience and skill in the area of facial aesthetics, to obtain a natural, “untreated” appearance – that’s why we feel that board certified plastic surgeons are uniquely qualified in this regard.
How Long does Sculptra® Aesthetic Last?
According to the manufacturer, the results can last for up to two years.
Why your Sculptra® Aesthetic Experience will be different at Total Aesthetics™
- Unlike facilities that utilize ancillary providers like “nurse injectors,” physician assistants, etc. to inject BOTOX® Cosmetic and fillers like Sculptra® Aesthetic, at Total Aesthetics™ you’ll never have to wonder who will be performing your injections – it’s always Joseph B. O’Connell, MD, an Ivy educated and trained plastic surgeon who has been certified by both the American Board of Plastic Surgery and the American Board of Surgery, practicing in Fairfield County for over 30 years.
- Only legitimate, US FDA-approved products like Sculptra® Aesthetic are used. All products are sourced directly from the manufacturer and no illegally re-imported, so called “parallel imported,” or even counterfeit products are ever used at Total Aesthetics™ – we’ll even show you the packaging.
- We believe that when it comes to relaxers and fillers, one size does not fit all. We will carefully review your facial anatomy as well as your aesthetic goals and help you navigate through the many available neurotoxin and filler choices to help you choose the product that will likely provide you with the best result for a particular application.
